“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; The other is to refuse to accept what is true. – Soren Kierkegaard
While Mayor John Dickert proclaims the City of Racine is broke, that more funds are needed, and that taxes must be raised beyond reasonable limits – One must stop and ask – IS the City of Racine overpaying for employees? Are salaries and compensation in line with the 21st. C Global economic reality? How can a resident make a decision if City Hall hides the compensation of employees?
In the spirit that an informed electorate can make a better decision – the entire list of City Employee salaries for 2012 is being published. Remember that the salaries shown don’t include the non-taxed Benefits package that often adds $20,000 – $30,000+ to their compensation.

Great to see another site! “You can’t hide the light under a bushel” Great name “EXPOSED”
So is this like the guy who makes 70K driving a silver pick-up truck all day for DPW and writing pink slips and attaching them to your garbage cans telling you they are too full? SMH… Also, when was this open records request filed, there are quite a few current names I see missing from the list?
What the guy does would be an excellent question for your Alderman to answer.
Those missing might be missing because they don’t meet the criteria for the request – salary under $25,000, OR they may work for someone besides The City of Racine. If you provide some names – I will check.
Great job you are what the Good Old Boys most fear Information
It amazes me that the one thing that is suffering the most, are the children of Racine. Does anyone consider the facts? If you want to bitch because are children are dumb or act inappropriately and / or behaviors are misscued. Keep taking everything away from them, see what happens you fools. Someday those children will be adults, with a dumb-downed educations system that they graduated and be running your elderly life. NOW WHAT?!! What are you going to do when you took away the resources, the livlihood that they needed to be educated properly and you put them in charge of the system? You are going to get a mess. But I guess just lining your own pockets is what you wish for right now. Not the future. That’s ok for all of you city employees, this is going to bite you so far in the ass your nose is going to squeak. You will be old and helpless and in the hands of those you deprived at some point. What are you going to do and how are you going to feel when the strength of one particular is not you?
No one is forced to be a City Employee, whose salaries and benefits are completely funded by the taxpayers. Anytime they are unhappy with their pay – they are *FREE* to leave and start their own business and make what they are really worth; go elsewhere; or apply for private sector employment.
Public employees are overpaid, overcompensated, and their salaries and benefits do not reflect the ability of the Community to continue with funding them. If the only thing you do the job for is the money – then you need to get out and find employment elsewhere.
Your complete failure to understand modern economic reality is sad, but not unexpected. Educate yourself and think deeper than your mere reactionary greed and avarice. Learn what being Altruistic is about.
Oh, I also love the fact that cops get a lower salary to put their life in fatal situations while everyone else gets to sit on their duff to get the high priced jobs. Funny ain’t it!
If you don’t do the job because you desire that employment and can accept the conditions – LEAVE.
People like you bankrupt a community and then the cop has no job. Think about that for a while.
How many cops does this city need? This is ridiculous…no wonder the city is broke.
